Having a baby is a life changing event. A new baby bring changes, new stresses, and a potential for much joy. Often when people are in difficult circumstances it is hard to see how a pregnancy – which may currently be perceived as stressful, unplanned and burdensome – could possibly become positive and joyful. Yet this is the experience of many women who go on to have their babies. Women are remarkably resilient and able to overcome obstacles. This is made easier when they have access to support and resources to help them.

Many women facing crisis pregnancy are not aware of the resources and support available to them. It is our view that no woman should have to walk this road alone. If you would like to explore what parenting might mean for you and gain further information about resources and support, please call our confidential free Help Line.

We offer assistance through our own network of support and there is also information available through other community organisations and various government departments. As examples, some helpful links are listed below.

If you are not living with the baby’s father it is possible to make a claim for child support payments.
